Description
Up for sale is an Agilent 4 channel 54832B 1GHz 4GSa/s DSO with 8 million points of memory depth (16 million in single-shot mode).I've upgraded the standard 2.5" rotating-media hard disk with a Sandisk 16GB solid state disk drive (SSD), so there will never be any worries about a disk drive crash which is common on standard disk drives, especially when the drive is jarred or subjected to vibration/impact.
PLEASE read and understand the following before purchasing:
This scope has been unlocked to a 1GHz 54832B scope. The scope now reports itself in the [help] [about] menu as a 54832B. All four channels meet vertical amplitude specification for the 54832B. Shown is CH1 with a 1GHz 600mV signal applied into 50 Ohms. Amplitude is 496mV. The -3dB specification would be 425mV minimum. The other three channels measure above 450mV as well. (The actual measured bandwidth is is over 1.2GHz.) Also shown is the rise-time and step response of a 30pS pulse. Time/DIV can now be set down to 200pS/DIV (versus 500pS/DIV for the 54831B) If you would prefer me to downgrade it to a 600MHz 54831B again, leave a message to me at the time of purchase and I'll be happy to oblige. Note that the badging (stickers) will still report itself as a 54831M. Note also that no modifications to the analog subsystem are required to do this, it is a digital thing only.
Many options as shown in pictures.
Scope has Windows XP O/S on a Sandisk 16GB solid state drive with 512MB of RAM. The Infiniium software is the latest ever offered by Agilent, 05.71.0000. The drive has been initialized to how a standard 54832B would have been shipped from Agilent.
The scope passes all of its self tests and calibration routines, and is working perfectly. The vertical amplitude has been tested at 1GHz and meets manufacturer specification of -3dB.
USB, NIC, CDROM, floppy drive and GPIB are tested and working. Cosmetically, the condition is very good - see pictures.
Why buy from me? There are some very good reasons:
1. I service what I sell. If at some point in the future your purchase needs service or repairs, I can perform them for you at a 25% discount if you buy from me. On Typical scope repairs for others I charge a flat rate of 0 for parts and labor (not including shipping); if you buy from me, I will discount to 0. If I cannot repair it for some reason, You only pay for shipping both ways and a boxing/packing and shipping account fee which my shipping company charges me. (I don't do my own boxing and packing due to work-space limitations.)
2. I know how to thoroughly test and repair what I sell. Why buy an expensive instrument from a seller that only knows how to turn on the instrument and twiddle the knobs, then proclaim it working by making statements like:
"It came from a working environment"
Translation: Probably removed because it was no longer functioning.
"All knobs and buttons seem to be working."
Translation: That's about all I know how to test after plugging in the power cord.
"Powers on, no further testing done."
Translation: Well, the fan seems to be working and the display does some stuff, it *must* be OK!"
Etc. You get the picture... I actually buy equipment described like this all the time, very often it needs repair. They list the equipment as "used" which in eBays description of used is "
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully
operational and
functions as intended
."
Yet it has problems, because the seller didn't know how to test it properly, or, at all.
3. I want to get your instrument to you fully functioning and able to meet manufacturer specification. Every item gets a final QC and full test before shipping it to you. I don't want any surprises, and I'm sure you don't either.
Returns accepted if defective or should fail calibration should you choose to have it done, as long as the tamper seals are intact. I will only ship to verified addresses in the continental United States. Your business means a lot to me. If you have any problems please contact me before leaving negative feedback or opening a case/return, and I promise to work it out with you to your satisfaction.
Thanks for looking.
