Description

Tested and working correctly. Pulled from an Agilent 54831B.
This drive will work with scopes that have the Motorola VP22 motherboard, and originally came with Windows XP. Comes with version 5.71 scope firmware/application along with the Windows XP operating system and drivers.
If your motherboard has BIOS revision AG08 this drive will work correctly. To see this screen (see last picture), attach a PS/2 keyboard to the scope and repeatedly press the TAB key as the scope is powered on, once you see this screen, press the PAUSE key to freeze the display. IF it has version AG07 or earlier, this drive will
not work, as Windows XP activation will fail.
Note: On the first boot into XP, the scope may prompt you to install various drivers - this may take several minutes. Please be sure to have a PS/2 style mouse installed which will allow you to click on the dialog boxes. After all the drivers are installed, RE-BOOT the scope before running the scope application. I have removed the shortcut to the scope application in the startup folder to keep the application from running prematurely, which may hang the scope if the drivers have not finished installing.
You will need to run a self-calibration from the utility menu before the scope is usable. To do this, you will need a short (3 feet maximum) 50 Ohm BNC to BNC coax cable. Follow the prompts from the scope application until done.
If your scope came with windows 98, this will not work.
