    Description

This is a very old antique Cast Iron Eagle Roof Guard which was intended to break up large amounts snow and/or ice into smaller pieces when they fall from a roof in a thaw so that they had a lesser chance of hurting a person or something else.  The 2 whole in the back allow it to be attached to the roof.  These were common in the 17th, 18th Centuries in large houses or building to keep melting ice and snow from hurting people or things.
This one is made of cast iron and is in very good condition for it's age.
    It measures 6 1/2" H x 5" W  x 9 1/2" L and weighs 2 lb. 6.3 oz.
