We are offering a fantastic wicker creel. The creel is an unusual tall, hand-made wicker creel . It was made in Michigan and in the style of Ed Cumings.Cumings represented an organization of wholesalers of tackle and equipment sold by leader jobbers from coast to coast. The creels were made of Michigan willow and shaped to fit the body and finished with spar varnish to prevent rotting.( This information is from the book The Art of The Creel by Hugh Chatham and Dan McClain)
It is in excellent used condition . The wicker is is very tight with no breaks, no rotting and no staining. The lid hinges are in excellent tight condition. The closure peg is tight and works excellently. Please view photoes to confirm our honest description of the creels condition.
The leather harness is in good condition with some minor cracking but no breaks.
The creel is 8 ½ ” high on back,12” wide in back, 7” high in front, 21” across the front, and 8" deep. The lid is 12 ½ " long by 6 ½ “wide.
