Description
For your consideration is an extremely nice Kodak Brownie No.2A Model B Box camera. It has a trigger guard (silver area around the shutter release) which was introduced to the 2A Model B line in 1920. No. 2A Brownies were made with a leatherette covering the cardboard constructed camera until 1924 when the cardboard was replaced by metal. This is a cardboard model so I would place the date of this camera from 1920-1924. The camera has a meniscus lens and a rotary shutter. It uses 116 film which produces a postcard size picture (2 1/2 x 4 1/4 ") It has a metal film carrier and features two viewfinders. It is opened by releasing two pivoted catches and pulling out the winding key. This camera is in excellent condition and the shutter seems to work. This cameras threeaperture
setting are changed by pulling up (or pushing down) the larger of the two "stop levers" on the top of the camera. The
apertures
seems change when the lever is pulled part way and then all the way up. Pulling up the smaller of the two levers puts the camera in "time mode". The camera opens easily and is clean inside. It has a film wind-up spool. The viewfinders are hazy, which I would expect from a 100 year old camera. The handle is intact and is in good condition with the word “Brownie” clearly visible. There is some slight wear on the edges/corners. This would be a b
eautiful display piece. I do not have the film or the knowledge to test it, so it is being sold as a display piece.
