LeCroy DDA-125 1.5GHz 4ch Digital Oscilloscope (LC684DXL with more options)

Description

LeCroy DDA-125 disk drive analyzer is a full featured digital oscilloscope, similar to LC684DXL, but with bigger LCD screen and includes many desirable measurement/analysis options plus additional measurement options aimed at hard disk drives.  DDA just means its a top-of-the line oscilloscope (in its day) loaded with options.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
This oscilloscope generally works well - all channels work,  all functions/features/controls work.  However it has three problems,  all of which are probably related to a well-known and repairable design issue (described further below).  The three problems are:
Occasionally the oscilloscope will not boot up after being turned on with the power switch.  The fans will turn on but the screen will remain blank.  This problem can always be resolved by turning off the power (with the main power switch), slapping the right side of the oscilloscope case, and then turning power back on again.
Normally the scope boots up with the same settings as when it was last powered off,  but occasionally it boots up with all settings reset to default.
It is normal for LeCroy scopes to automatically re-calibrate during operation - usually there will be a brief pause in the display update (1 second or less).  Occasionally the re-calibration pause is longer (can be more than 10 seconds).
I was told by someone experienced in LeCroy repair/refurbishment:  It is likely that all three problems are related to the well-known design issue with DDA-12x and LC68x long-memory series oscilloscopes:  undersized current carrying capacity (in the connectors between main power supply and main board) for one of the voltage rails.  The fix involves cutting into the connector shells and bending/soldering the pins over a replacement heavy gauge wire (which is the official LeCroy service fix).  The connector/pin failure is surely the cause of the occasional boot issue (most common symptom).  The settings loss is also likely related, as it doesn’t get a clean power-up and when it does get through boot, and thus resorts to defaults.  Voltage drop from the over-stressed power connector could also be effecting accuracy of the self-calibration causing it to take longer to get an acceptable result.
The fix for the undersized current carrying capacity has not been implemented in this oscilloscope,  so it is being sold "as-is" with no returns accepted.

Note that this scope has an HDD installed,  which can be used for easy saving/restoring panel setups which can be used to mitigate problem #2 (easy/quick to recall previously saved panel setups). The HDD can also be used to save many sets of channel data (waveforms).
