Unlike traditional ceiling mount whole house fans, the QuietCool CL-1500 mounts remotely in the attic and is suspended from the rafters.  Because it is installed this way, it dramatically reduces the sound level of the fan.
This whole house fan is also very easy to install.  A template is included for cutting out the opening for the grill which makes installation a snap.  The ceiling grill can be mounted vertically or horizontally, whatever fits your situation.  The QuietCool CL-1500 has a line cord, so you just simply plug it in, and you are ready to go!
The QC CL-1500 has a backdraft damper to prevent drafts from entering your home. This whole house fan is made in the United States.

Helpful Tips for Running your Whole House Fan
Do not run fans when its hot outside
Cool the house in the morning and close all windows during the hot part of the day
Only open a few windows at first when its starting to cool down, then later open more windows
Close your shades or blinds during mid morning to prevent sun from heating up your home
In the winter, you can turn on the fan during the warmest time of the day and bring in fresh warmer air to heat the home
