    Description

    Up for sale is a Tektronix 4 channel TDS7104 1GHz 10GS/s oscilloscope.
It comes with Windows 2000 on a 16GB SSD (Solid State Drive, no worries about a hard drive crash.) and 512MB of DRAM.
Unit has the touch screen option.
The scope passes all of its extended self tests from the utility menu and calibration routines including signal path compensation (SPC, over 20 times to be sure, and the analog front end has been re-built) and is working perfectly on all 4 channels. Vertical bandwidth (-3dB point) tested to 1GHz and is within specification. GPIB, floppy drive, CD-ROM, ethernet, and hard drive/SSD is tested. The probe interface was tested with a P6249 active FET probe.
I've upgraded the standard 2.5" rotating-media hard disk with a Sandisk 16GB solid state disk drive (SSD), so there will never be any worries about a disk drive crash which is common on standard disk drives, especially when the drive is jarred or subject to vibration/impact. The scope boots much faster as well!
There are no accessories or probes included with this scope. You will need a standard IEC power cord.
Why buy from me? There are some very good reasons:
    1. I service what I sell. If at some point in the future your purchase needs service or repairs, I can perform them for you at a 25% discount if you buy from me. On Typical scope repairs for others I charge a flat rate of 0 for parts and labor (not including shipping); if you buy from me, I will discount to 0. If I cannot repair it for some reason, You only pay for shipping both ways and a boxing/packing and shipping account fee which my shipping company charges me. (I don't do my own boxing and packing due to work-space limitations.)
    2. I know how to thoroughly test and repair what I sell. Why buy an expensive instrument from a seller that only knows how to turn on the instrument and twiddle the knobs, then proclaim it working by making statements like:
"It came from a working environment"
Translation: Probably removed because it was no longer functioning.
"All knobs and buttons seem to be working."
Translation: That's about all I know how to test after plugging in the power cord.
"Powers on, no further testing done."
Translation: Well, the fan seems to be working and the display does some stuff, it *must* be OK!"
Etc. You get the picture...  I actually buy equipment described like this all the time, very often it needs repair. They list the equipment as "used" which in eBays description of used is "
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully
    operational and
    functions as intended
    ."
Yet it has problems, because the seller didn't know how to test it properly, or, at all.
    3. I want to get your instrument to you fully functioning and able to meet manufacturer specification. Every item gets a final QC and full test before shipping it to you. I don't want any surprises, and I'm sure you don't either.
Returns accepted only if defective and the tamper seal is intact, which will be placed on the unit at final QC/Test which I will perform before shipping to you. I will only ship to verified addresses in the continental United States. Item will be shipped with thick high density foam or foam-in-place / Instapak, so it will arrive intact with no damage.
Your positive feedback is very important to me, if you have any problems, please contact me for resolution before leaving negative feedback or opening a case against me. I will work things out to your satisfaction.
In the unlikely event that you ever have a problem with the scope, please contact me for repair services. I specialize in repairing TDS500, 600, 700, and TDS7000 series (up to and including 1GHz) scopes which are failing SPC (Signal path compensation) and other issues, as well as various problems commonly found on Agilent Infiniium series scopes.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will reply within one day or less. Thank you for looking.
