Description
Up for sale is a loaded with options Tektronix 4 channel TDS784D 1GHz 4GSa/s oscilloscope.SN B033235
The scope has the following options installed:
13: RS-232-C and Centronics interface ports.
1F: 1.44MB Floppy drive.
2M: Extends standard acquisition length from 50,000 points per channel to 2 million samples on three or four channels, 4 million samples on two channels, and 8 million samples on one channel.
HD: Hard disk drive. This particular scope has a 2GB drive.
2F: Advanced DSP math features such as FFT, integration, and differentiation.
2C: Communication Signal Analyzer. Oscilloscope comes configured for communications signal triggering and mask testing.
Software options. These are NOT demo applications, but FULLY functional ones:
TDSCEM1: Communications Eye-diagram Measurements Software. TDSCEM1 adds additional capability to Option 2C by allowing communication customers to perform quantitative measurements on their eye diagrams in addition to qualitative mask testing. TDSCEM1 provides an extensive suite of additional measurements to support analysis and trouble-shooting beyond simple pass-fail testing.
TDSJIT1: The TDSJIT1 Jitter Analysis Application is a Java-based application that enhances the jitter analysis capability of Tektronix TDS oscilloscopes. The application offers many of the same timing measurements and two additional measurements: Cycle-to-Cycle and N-Cycle. Oscilloscopes can take only one measurement in an acquisition waveform. The TDSJIT1 application can take and accumulate measurements throughout an entire waveform. The application can display the measurement results three ways: as Statistics, in a Histogram graphical format, or in a Profile graphical format (measurement versus measurement index numbers).
TDSEYE1: Eye pattern measurements.
TDSPRT1: Enhanced printing. The TDSPRT1 Enhanced Printing Application lets you define specific parts of a data record, scaled to meet your needs, to send to a printer or to save to a print file. Since the prints are larger than the data displayed by the oscilloscope, the data is easier to read and analyze.
WFMSAVER: Waveform Save on Trigger.
A very rare option.
Allows the scope to automatically print or save a waveform to the floppy or hard drive / flash drive on a single or multiple trigger event(s).
Cosmetically, it's in good condition, with the usual sticker residue. The pictures depict the exact scope you will get. CRT has good brightness.
The scope passes all of its extended self tests from the utility menu and calibration routines including signal path compensation (SPC, numerous times to be sure, and the analog front end has been re-built), and is working perfectly on all 4 channels. Bandwidth tested to 1GHz. GPIB and floppy drive is tested. The probe interface was tested with a P6243 FET probe.
There are no accessories or probes included with this scope. You'll need a standard IEC power cord.
Returns accepted only if defective and the tamper seal on the rear cover is intact. I will only ship to verified addresses in the continental United States.
Why buy from me? There are some very good reasons:
1. I service what I sell. If at some point in the future your purchase needs service or repairs, I can perform them for you at a 25% discount if you buy from me. On Typical scope repairs for others I charge a flat rate of 0 for parts and labor (not including shipping); if you buy from me, I will discount to 0. If I cannot repair it for some reason, You only pay for shipping both ways and a boxing/packing and shipping account fee which my shipping company charges me. (I don't do my own boxing and packing due to work-space limitations.)
2. I know how to thoroughly test and repair what I sell. Why buy an expensive instrument from a seller that only knows how to turn on the instrument and twiddle the knobs, then proclaim it working by making statements like:
"It came from a working environment"
Translation: Probably removed because it was no longer functioning.
"All knobs and buttons seem to be working."
Translation: That's about all I know how to test after plugging in the power cord.
"Powers on, no further testing done."
Translation: Well, the fan seems to be working and the display does some stuff, it *must* be OK!"
Etc. You get the picture... I actually buy equipment described like this all the time, very often it needs repair. They list the equipment as "used" which in eBays description of used is "
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully
operational and
functions as intended
."
Yet it has problems, because the seller didn't know how to test it properly, or, at all.
3. I want to get your instrument to you fully functioning and able to meet manufacturer specification. Every item gets a final QC and full test before shipping it to you. I don't want any surprises, and I'm sure you don't either.
Your positive feedback is very important to me, if you have any problems, please contact me for resolution before leaving negative feedback or opening an "item not as described". I will work thing out to your satisfaction.
In the unlikely event that you ever have a problem with the scope, please contact me for repair services. I specialize in repairing TDS500 600 and 700 series (up to and including 1GHz) scopes which are failing SPC (Signal path compensation) as well as various problems commonly found on Agilent 545XX and 548XX series of scopes.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will usually reply within one day or less. Thank you for looking.
