Well this is super cool.  Hard to find memorabilia from actual ship used during world war ii.  Very nice commemorative plaque of the christening of the cape Douglas. Plaque appears to be Walnut and the broken bottle is wired in from the back. Really nice presentation piece. May have stayed on the ship during the war and beyond I do not know. Someone took great care and made this plaque customized. Notice the red white and blue ribbons on the bottle.  A nice keepsake remembering the thousands of men it transported to and from the war.
